A Country In Trouble

Wow! What a weekend it has been following the news of the disaster in Japan.  Thousands left dead and millions left homeless with no food, water, or shelter.  On Friday afternnon, an 8.9 earthquake shook the entire island of Japan.  The results caused a tsunami that effected the entier Pacific coast.  Over 10,000 people have been reported dead and thousands more injured or missing.  Japan is a highly developed country and this is an unbelievable shock for the world.

Not only have they had to deal with the earthquake, and a tsunami, But know they are dealing with the possible meltdown of 5 diffferent nuclear reactor facilities.  Two of these facilities have already had hydrogen expolosions and are emitting radiation.  There are conflictiong stories about the dangers and risks of the radiation levels.  I am not a scientist, but I certainly know that the Japanese people are in need of our resources, htoughts, and most importantly. OUR PRAYERS!

WHAT A WEEK!

Well this was writing assessment week for us at WGMS.  I teach both 7th and 8th grade in Globaloria so our schedule was completely thrown off.  The students were moved to the library to computers that did not have Flash installed.  By Wednesday we were up and running.  The studetns have been working on using the arrow keys for navigation.

We seem to be having trouble understanding that the games have to be educational and not just puzzles.  The kids have really ggod ideas, but we are not getting the ideas to the game concept.  I feel like we are in a whirlwind.  Anyone else out there feel that way right now?
